Chemie-Pack and director Gerard Smelt have to pay more than 1.7 million due to the municipality of Moerdijk costs incurred after the massive fire at the company in early 2011, The Council of State has ruled that today.

In order to prevent further environmental damage left the town polluted rain water, fire water, mud and fire debris cleanup.

Whether the church ever get the money, is the question. Chemie-Pack after the fire went bankrupt and the property company Chemie-Pack and director Gerard Spiering in other cases already condemned many millions compensation. The total damage from the fire is estimated at 70 million.
