Federal police will investigate breeding ground for corruption within police – Omroep Brabant

  Woerden – The Dutch Police Union calls for an investigation into the breeding ground for corruption within the police. “Policing in the year 2016 is not the same as in 2000,” said spokesman Dick Harte. “Therefore, a current scan of the organization is required to fix the vulnerabilities.”
 

The association advocates the investigation Wednesday after a new case of corruption in the National Police came out. A leading police Eindhoven show five months suspended on suspicion of fraud and corruption.

If potential vulnerabilities within the police Harte include mentions the use of increasingly sophisticated ICT systems, but also cooperation with private parties, such as security companies. He believes it is developments such as these agents are not always clear what information they share with whom.

Clear guidelines
“Confusion to the likelihood that agents are traveling on thin ice increases,” thinks the spokesman. It is what the Dutch Police Union concerns therefore time for a broad investigation to come basis until clear guidelines.

The suspension of the police from Eindhoven is not the only corruption case in the past year in our province. The most famous case is that of politiemol Mark M. who was arrested in October last year for trading in confidential police information. M. worked for a long time at the detective Son.

Serious dereliction of duty
in June came out to a 46-year-old police officer from the unit East Brabant was fired due to serious dereliction of duty. He would have looked several times in police information systems and information shall be passed on to others.
