HILVERSUM – The Tergooi hospital in Hilversum, the netherlands admits that mistakes were made in the treatment of the 21-year-old hockey player Rogier Mooij, who in november 2014 unexpectedly came to death. The hospital says that it is better not zwijggeld to the next of kin would have had to pay. That made Tergooi Monday known, as a result of an investigation into the question of an independent commission.
,,Tergooi regrets strongly what has taken place. This tragic event has had a major impact, in the first place on the parents and family of the victim, but also other persons directly involved and the hospital in general”, says board chairman Ruurd Jan Roorda.
The young patient was beginning of november 2014 to the first aid of the hospital with severe chest pain. He was captured and thirteen hours later he died suddenly. The patient was not on the monitor and was not examined by a specialist. The hospital has this not been reported as a calamity in the inspection.
The medical disciplinary board must still make judgements about the actions of the concerned medical specialist.
