Hearing damage structural problem: young people, the quarter – Yahoo! News

New research with disturbing results: one in four young people between 12 and 25 years suffers from hearing loss. And that is mainly due to exposure to loud music while going out and listening to portable music players.

According to a study by the Amsterdam Medical Center, in the past five years, more than 300,000 online decreased hearing tests. The results are in accordance with the AMC “very disturbing.” The test results in the period 2010 – 2015 about the same, which according to the National Hearing Foundation indicates a structural and substantial health problem. ”

The Labour Party is so frightened of the research that they call for tougher measures hearing damage counter. The party wants pubs and discos where the music is too loud therefore deal harshly with fines or, if necessary, the withdrawal of the license. Agnes Wolbert find the number of young people with permanent hearing problems (one in four) “unacceptably high,” she says in daily newspaper Metro.

She wants municipalities except the hospitality also impose stricter requirements on the noise level at festivals and events. Labour Inspectorates could measure the noise level, companies that do not abide by the agreement can expect sanctions. In addition, young people should do a hearing test in high school.
