AMSTERDAM –

For the students who occupied the Maagdenhuis in Amsterdam, has started ticking clock. They should be out around midnight Friday. This follows from the visit of the bailiff, shortly before 20:00. He has the judgment of the court served on the occupiers, which means they must be gone within four hours

.

The occupiers in the Amsterdam Maagdenhuis refuse to leave. The group says it wants to leave the building Monday morning. Maagdenhuis however will not be evicted tonight. For safety reasons, the evacuation will not take place in the dark. Yet by the students seem to enforce their proposal.

“We are going to Monday for 12 hours voluntary way. Before that there is no question of voluntariness, “said the student. The possibility of intervention by the police take the occupiers for granted.

The occupiers have the right to leave the building in the short term. If they do not, they have to pay a penalty of 1,000 euros per day.

That the court in Amsterdam ruled Friday in a lawsuit that the University of Amsterdam (UvA) had brought against the protesters. The UvA student demonstrators demanded that the building would be leaving within four hours. The students wanted Saturday and Sunday still hold a festival, but the judge was not in it.

According to the counsel of the UvA the occupiers have done in recent weeks for 500,000 damage in the property and there are been incidents with injuries. “There are ceilings destroyed, there are rooms broken and there’s been graffiti.” The lawyer did not respond to a request by the occupiers to justify the enormous damage.

Amsterdam triangle

The Amsterdam triangle, the consultative body of police, municipal and justice said Friday hoping for a “corpse organizes departure. “The judge on Friday ruled on the request of the University of Amsterdam to be able to evacuate the Maagdenhuis. The judge has the UvA in civil proceedings vindicated the UvA and gives permission to evacuate the Maagdenhuis, “it says in a statement. The triangle assumes that the university board with the occupiers make agreements about “orderly departure” from the building
