Navy ship rescues another 248 refugees – NU.nl

The rescue operation Tuesday picked up the navy all 193 refugees from a sinking boat between Egypt and Sicily.

Both rescues took place within 24 hours, twittered Rob Verkerk, the commander of the navy. Van Amstel is now with 441 refugees on their way to an Italian port to bring them ashore there.

The Navy frigate for the EU’s border agency Frontex active in the Mediterranean.
