Monasch get off PvdA-fraction – Transport Online

Monasch get off PvdA-fraction

AMSTERDAM – Jacques Monasch get immediately from the PvdA-group in the Second Room. He remains, for the time being on its own title in the Room. The government parties VVD and PvdA have by his departure, no majority and no more, in the Second Room. Together, they have exactly half, 75 of 150 seats. Large problems are therefore not yet expected.

Monasch also says his membership of the Labour party, the party which until recently he still wanted to compete for the lijsttrekkerschap. He made that Monday afternoon is known in the Pijp in Amsterdam, where he started as member of parliament for the PvdA. He gave an explanation on his decision to not participate in the lijsttrekkersverkiezing, which now goes between PvdA-leader Diederik Samsom and deputy prime minister Lodewijk Asscher.

He retreated from the lijsttrekkersverkiezing because according to him, only members are allowed to participate, while previously there would be open elections. Also, he wanted the election program is still able to adapt as he would be chosen. When the party executive said here not to be able to go, he decided to withdraw. “The party turns its back to the non-members, to the people who are away walked. It is only a privilege of members to participate in such a lijsttrekkersverkiezing.” Monasch will find that there to listen to ten thousand members of the Labour party that in recent years their membership opzegden.

“I’ll do it with a lot of grief. I am starting my sixteenth member of the Labour Party. But I find that the Labour party allegiance must be to himself, to show respect to themselves. And now she is going in a direction that I can no longer wear because I find that we are an open party, especially now that it is so difficult with the PvdA,” said Monasch.

He was already at odds with the party-leadership over the course of the fraction and the party. In march, he is no longer eligible to set for the Room, but last month he introduced himself to the surprise of many candidate for the lijsttrekkerschap. He is deliberating now on his (political) future. LikeTweet
