BAARN – Defence Staff has spent the past two years, 183 times accidentally shot with a gun. According to figures of Defense that are requested by lawyer Sebastien Diekstra. He wants to show that shooting incidents often occur.

The vast majority of unintentional shots are fired by members of the Royal Military Police, as a shot in the main building of the Military Police Brigade in Baarn. However, most incidents occur in the loading and unloading of weapons at Schiphol. There is already taken into account, because the balls can thereby be safely contained.

The most remarkable incident in October this year. On a naval vessel in the Gulf of Aden was accidentally shot with a 127-millimeter cannon. A shot was fired in the “intel space ‘by someone from the Air Force in Mazar-e-Sharif in Afghanistan.
