The Dutch Marc Cornelissen and Philip de Roo disappeared on April 29 in the Canadian Arctic on an expedition. A salvage team found Friday Cornelissen of the body, but not that of De Roo. The search for his body was put stop.
From section showed that Cornelissen got hypothermia and drowned at the spot where the pair a distress call sent out on April 29. His body was transferred to the Dutch embassy in Canada and is brought to the Netherlands

The family of the two killed polar explorers have expressed their gratitude for all the help and support over the past weeks. In a statement speaking families especially their appreciation for the Canadian Police, Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Also praise them ‘the tireless efforts of the embassy staff of the Dutch Embassy in Ottawa and the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
