Roads closed this afternoon for last chests flight MH17 – AD.nl

The last boxes of remains of victims of disaster flight MH17 its way to the Netherlands. A Dutch military transport aircraft which carry them, left this morning from the airport of the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkov. Rijkswaterstaat keeps traffic on the A2 and A27 this afternoon against temporary as the motorcade drives past.

Minister Ard van der Steur ( Security and Justice), many other authorities from the Netherlands, Ukraine, Australia and Malaysia and members of the salvage team stood side by side while in the C-130 Hercules was in the air.

Van der Steur and other delegation members left the Netherlands then in another, faster plane so they can be also present around 16.00 at the arrival of the seven coffins at Eindhoven Air Base. There are also many relatives and same ceremony held as earlier arrivals.

The boxes go to Hilversum, where the remains are examined. There are two victims not geïdenitificeerd. The leader of the mission, Aalbersberg, is hopeful that it’s going to happen.

Warning
Rijkswaterstaat warns motorists for extra travel time to the A2 and A27 between Eindhoven Airport and Hilversum. Public Works and police say measures have been taken to ensure a smooth and dignified passage out of the funeral procession.

On the A2 and A27 road users during the passage of the procession stopped short. Public Works advises motorists to keep the current traffic in mind.

Military honors
Prior to departure there was a sober ceremony at the Hercules at the airport in Kharkov. The crates were in silence, but with military honors transport plane worn.

When the air crash on July 17 last year, all 298 occupants of the airplane of Malaysia Airlines, including 196 Dutch. The salvage mission, the past few weeks many human remains, personal effects and wreckage of the device have been recovered, was completed this week.

A pledge by the international community, to bring the victims home, is thus redeemed, Van der Steur noted during a press conference.

He thanked the Ukrainian authorities and residents for all assistance during the often difficult circumstances in the past nine months.

He also boasted at a press conference the international cooperation and good teamwork after the disaster. ,, The common thread in tackling the horrific disaster is cooperation to achieve the desired result. ”
