Amsterdam mayor ends protest Pegida – NU.nl

Van der Laan had to 16:00 permission to demonstrate on a spot behind the Stopera. Initially it was planned to demonstrate in the square for the Stopera, but the protests could not continue at that location because of the discovery of a suspicious package.

Experts Police did Saturday investigating the object found, reported to the police in Amsterdam. The area was therefore dropped and the protesters were escorted by police to the alternative location for the demonstration. “The package was deceptively real, but turned out to contain fireworks,” the police stated later.

The police have been after some time behind the Stopera finally put an end to the demonstration. By 16:15 the police to move the protesters called into waiting buses for their own safety. Shortly before 17:00 was virtually everyone away and police deposits were lifted.



Unrest
