Eighteen houses were due to the possible gas explosion cleared, said a spokesman for the Safety of North Holland North. The explosion was accompanied by a brief fire, but the spokesman said there is now no more fire hazard.
The explosion on the second floor windows at the front and back of several houses are blown out. The occupant of the apartment where the explosion occurred, suffered burns. The man was examined by paramedics and was then questioned by police. A police spokeswoman says that he was arrested and taken for questioning. There are no further injuries.
