UWV get additional examiners to eliminate backlog – NU.nl

Minister Lodewijk Asscher (Social Affairs) extending Friday reported to the House. Doctors are trained to assess thousands of people with a disability or they still have a right to it.

Last year showed that many people no doctor see for years after being rejected once in whole or in part. The union of examiners noted that some afgekeurden decade not be reinspected. There are may people who have been refurbished in the meantime and therefore no allowance should be given more.

“The starting point must be that in all cases where a reassessment is necessary, it is also carried out within a reasonable time” writes Asscher.

The UWV is in his already begun recruiting and training. From the second half of this year the first new examiners to work. This results this year 7,800 additional reassessments on, the minister said. Without measures expected UWV that the backlog end of this year would be 16,800 reassessments.

At the insistence of the Chamber does the NCA investigation into the work backlogs with the UWV. MP Steven Van Weyenberg (D66) is looking forward to that investigation. He is happy with the arrival of additional examiners. “It does not sit well when people unnecessarily into a benefit. That is not social policy, but rather the exclusion of people and seeing what people can do.”
