At least one osprey born in Biesbosch – NU.nl

Ospreys normally only stay in the Netherlands when they are on their way from Africa to breeding grounds in northern and eastern Europe, reports NIS .

On Wednesday morning noticed a forester that the osprey in the nest were no longer brooding, but to feeding. In about three weeks may be only determine whether one or more cubs are crawling out of the eggs. The immediate vicinity of the nest is inaccessible to the public.

Earlier this month it became clear that the osprey first hatched in the Netherlands. Two osprey pairs were then monitored for weeks by foresters. The couple appeared to brood, staying for several years during the summer months in the Biesbosch.

The birds seem to have their sentence in the Netherlands. Especially in the shallow, fish-filled lagoons Noordwaard and Zuiderklip of the Biesbosch are the animals much. They capture new classifieds large noise roach and bream.
