JSF above our province: Where do we stand? – NH News

SCHIPHOL North Holland can today meet with the Joint Strike Fighter (F-35). Roughly between 16.00 and 16.20 the jet roars over our province so that our people can already get used to the sound. But what we need if we want to experience it?

The F-35 Lightning II, the real name of the JSF, arrived in May for the first time in the Netherlands. Residents of Friesland and Brabant had the scoop, as the aircraft landed after crossing from the United States first at Leeuwarden Air Base and then visited the Brabant Volkel airbase.

Experience Flights
Defence hopes the series of test flights to the Dutch population used to the sound of the F-35 and so to hear that another fighter, but not annoying sound produce than its predecessor, the F-16. The so-called “flight experience” hundreds of spotters flocked to the military airports in Volkel and Leeuwarden.

Today, Noord-Holland’s turn. Unfortunately, the F-35 lands not on one of the North Holland airports, but the aircraft flies or at very low altitude above Amsterdam, Zaanstreek to IJmuiden, along the North Sea coast to the airbase De Kooy in Den Helder and exit North Holland over Texel Airport. Texel after he flies to the training ground on Vlieland and the Friesian side of the dam.

Please note that all goes quickly, because as planned flies the F-35 at 16:07 pm still above Amsterdam and he lands back in Leeuwarden at 16:27 pm.

New attempt
The plane ride was actually to take place last week. When the plane ride was canceled because of low clouds.
