These students will receive a home visit from an inspector, who checks whether the student actually lives at the address where they are registered. If it does not, a penalty may be imposed. DUO can recover the non-resident scholarship from the moment the student at that address was registered, plus a penalty of 50 percent of the amount imposed on student finance.

Fraud decreases correct

According DUO take fraud actually declined among students. The department believes that this is due to the stringent regulations since 2012, enabling students not only to repay the student, but also a hefty fine. It is also for DUO sufficient to prove that a student does not live at the address where they are registered. Previously, the service had to prove that the student actually lived at home.
