Schiphol become second aviation hub in the world “- NU.nl

Schiphol handled 4,633 weekly direct flights, contends Foundation for Economic Research (SEO), reports Het Financieele Dagblad on Monday.

In addition to travel more passengers via Schiphol then via Frankfurt. Last week it became clear that the number of passengers at Schiphol has risen in the first half of this year by 9.9 percent. It was 29.7 million passengers.

Frankfurt could just nearly 1 percent less welcome passengers in the same period. The number declined in the first six months of 2016 to 28.7 million.

Heathrow Airport in London (35.7 million) and Charles de Gaulle in Paris (31.3 million) during that period the most receive passengers.

The airport expects to receive some 63 million passengers throughout 2016. That would be a record for Schiphol
