Ten-year rail contract for RET and HTM – OV-Magazine

The Transport Authority Rotterdam The Hague Metropolitan Area has given two ten-year rail concession: the Rotterdam RET and HTM in The Hague. The contracts in December.

The RET (metro and tram) it is a contract for a total of three billion and HTM (only tram ) to 2 billion euros. Besides transportation also make maintenance of the infrastructure and social security part of the agreement. The starting point of the new concessions is that the current tram and metro lines are maintained.

Concession Grantor mrdh sets quality standards for transport. The rating of RET and HTM should at least give a 7,5 transport, rising to 7.8 at the end of the concession period. RET does not much extra to occur; Last year the Rotterdam carrier got an 7.8 for the tram and 7.6 for the subway. HTM, there is work to be done; the tram was given a 7.4.

The mrdh also has established agreements in 2015 on punctuality and minimal rituitval. The related bonus / malus scheme stimulates the carriers to run on time. An additional boost in quality is the information that HTM will open in Delft. RET focuses on expanding the RET app and the development of English-language information and route information in the tram.

the final award HTM is only in the autumn, because the Hague has yet to decide on the purchase of one share HTM by the mrdh.
