The lawyer and economist Langman had from the early fifties various positions in business. After his ministry, he held numerous directorships, including at the publishing house Wolters Kluwer aircraft manufacturer Fokker and retailer Vendex.
He was from 1974 to 2005, the Trustees of the Telders Foundation, the scientific office of the VVD, first as a member and later as chairman. Langman also had to be minister professor at the Dutch School of Economics in Rotterdam, a forerunner of the Erasmus University.
Friesland, Groningen and Drenthe know the liberal especially of his name Langman agreement. The intercession of a committee that was chaired Langman, suggested the then cabinet Cook-I in 1998 millions of euros available to strengthen the northern economy.
