Van Vleuten must stay 24 hours in intensive care after crash – NU.nl

The Dutch went to 33-year-old head and seemed on his way to gold when they crashed. After her fall she lay motionless on the roadside.

“I am still quite worried,” said national coach Johan Lammerts, who was present when Van Vleuten ambulance was taken to the hospital, against NU.nl .

Intensive care

Van Vleuten started with the American Mara Abbott on the descent to the finish line on the promenade of Copacabana. Utrecht showed the most daring in downhill and they took away from the conservative Abbott.
