New train timetables start: this will change for you – NH News

NORTH-HOLLAND today, those Who with the train travels, will do well to take to send us to study the train schedules. Which are in fact considerably changed compared to yesterday. The most significant change in the timetable since 2007, but what changes for you?

First the good news: from a large number of stations runs from today, a larger number of trains. The travel time between some stations is also shorter and on some of the routes, you don’t seem more.

However, it is not only hallelujah on the track: as you need on some of the routes, an additional switch and are you on some routes a bit longer on the road. Below you can view the changes in and around Noord-Holland.

More trains

  • Between Schiphol and Almere drive starting today, four Intercity trains per hour. That there were two.
  • On the route Amsterdam-Breukelen drive more Sprinters. There are now four, there were two. The Sprinter Rhenen – Breukelen drive to Amsterdam Centraal and Uitgeest. This allows travelers more often a direct connection.
  • Also on the route Hoofddorp-Leiden drive more Sprinters. The Sprinter Hoorn Kersenboogerd – Hoofddorp runs until 19.00 hours in the evening also to Lead, so that during the day, four instead of two Sprinters per hour run between Hoofddorp and Leiden.
  • In the rush hour between Alkmaar and Schagen extra trains deployed. This enables travellers to the north of Alkmaar, which in the direction of Haarlem travel in Alkmaar, quickly transitioning from the Intercity Schagen-Alkmaar on the Intercity train in the direction of Haarlem (and vice versa).
  • Also in Heiloo, Castricum and Hoorn Kersenboogerd to stop in the rush hour more trains. The travel time of the Intercity train takes this approximately 5 minutes.
  • Intercity trains between Leiden and Haarlem and Leiden and the airport Schiphol connect better to each other. In addition, there is every fifteen minutes a reismogelijkheid of and to Den Haag Centraal, of which two times per hour with switch. Also the Sprinters are around to Lead close tighter on the Intercity trains allowing travelers shorter route.

direct connections

  • Amsterdam South has as of today two times per hour a new direct connection to Den Haag Laan van NOI, Den Haag HS, Delft, Schiedam Centrum, Rotterdam Centraal, Rotterdam Blaak and Dordrecht.
  • The Intercity Amsterdam Centraal-Vlissingen drive through Haarlem. Travelers between Schiphol and Zealand steps in Rotterdam (with the Intercity direct) or Lead (on the same platform on the other side).
  • Between Zaandam and Amsterdam Zuidoost drive per hour four direct Sprinters. This eliminates the need for passengers less often.
  • All (spits)Intercity trains stop again at station Hoorn Kersenboogerd. The Intercity trains Enkhuizen to Amsterdam Centraal and Amsterdam Centraal-Amersfoort are no longer linked. This has no extra time to a result, an additional transition.
  • Between Hoofddorp and Amsterdam Central drive four direct Sprinters per hour. Two of these Sprinters ride after Hoofddorp by the direction of Leiden and Den Haag Central.

  • The Intercity Den Helder – Nijmegen stops in Heiloo. The journey time between Heiloo and Alkmaar/Den Helder is thus limited to 10 minutes shorter. The Intercity Alkmaar – Maastricht does not stop more on station Heiloo.

Other changes

  • By the additional Intercity to Amsterdam Zuid and Schiphol, it will eliminate the direct Intercity trains between Lelystad and Amsterdam Central on the route between Lelystad – Almere. Travelers between Lelystad Centrum and Amsterdam Central station in Almere on the other side of the same platform transfer with constant travel time.
  • In the night from Friday to Saturday and from Saturday to Sunday goes to 2.10 pm a night train from Haarlem to Amsterdam Centraal. This train travels to 2.34 hours to get to Haarlem.
