The government runs the gas in Groningen further proof. That says Minister Henk Kamp of Economic Affairs

He said that homes in the earthquake area to be strengthened for the next two years:. Three thousand houses in 2015 and another five thousand the next year

Less treasury income

Supervision of handling

Former VVD chairman Bas Eenhoorn will oversee the handling of damage to houses from earthquakes in Groningen. Unicorn doing this together with the Centre Safe Housing, where 150 people come to work.

The Dutch Petroleum Company (NAM) is responsible for the gas which earthquakes occur. The Safe Living Center will be placed at a distance of NAM and Unicorn will report twice a year to minister Henk Kamp (Economic Affairs).



Reaction NAM

Gerald Schotman, Director NAM, responding to the letter to the minister:

“It is good that the government has now made a decision. Residents in Groningen experienced much inconvenience as a result of the earthquakes caused by gas production. Is now a broad and coherent package of measures aimed at safety, repair, and quality of life and economic perspective “

Schotman adds to it:

” What NAM is concerned, the Letter to clear. We know what is asked of us. We will – at the request of the Minister – study how the further reduction of gas can best be implemented “

Also, the province and the Groningen municipalities respond to the gas production decision by Minister Kamp.

“Minister takes a step, but much more is needed to ensure the safety of residents and to restore the confidence of the people of Groningen.”
