WOENSDRECHT – Woensdrecht will be one of three European service centers for engine maintenance to the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF), officially the F-35. That Minister Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert Defense Thursday announced in parliament, after assurances from the United States.
Woensdrecht will have to share the engine maintenance with Norway and Turkey. The latter country started in 2018 with the maintenance, followed in two to three years, the Netherlands and Norway. The expectation is that the Logistic Center Woensdrecht (LCW) on the Woensdrechtse airbase in the next thirty years will remain a pivotal role in the engine maintenance on the JSF.
The American commitment ‘strengthens the Dutch innovation economy and good for jobs, especially in south-Brabant “said Minister Henk Kamp of Economic Affairs, who on Monday also will visit Aviolanda Woensdrecht.
