The United States Netherlands have asked for permission to check all passengers and goods at Schiphol Airport who wish to travel to American territory. This is contained in a letter sent to Minister Van der Steur of Security and Justice (VVD) on May 6 to the House.
According to the minister is currently examining the impact of the introduction of these foreign border controls on Dutch territory for the airport, airlines and the Dutch government. This will include looking at how it should be handled refused travelers. The Netherlands also has the European Commission called for a European position regarding the proposal.
The USA are such border controls already on fifteen foreign havens, including in Canada, Ireland, the United Arab Emirates and Aruba. The US government wants to expand the number of likes and therefore approached several European countries.
