A man who knew Wednesday to rescue his son from the Waal at Gendt, has been missing since then. He was swept away by currents in the river, went under and did not come up. Fire service divers searched for the victim but found none, said the corps Gelderland-Midden

During the search vessel traffic is temporarily halted . The 24-year-old man had got into trouble because of the strong currents between the cribs. The 50-year-old father from Gendt managed by someone fishing the man out of the water. It only succeeded him not to get on dry land. The police assume that the man drowned
