Two conductors in train mistreated by zwartrijder – nrc.nl

A 24-year-old zwartrijder was arrested today because of the mistreatment of two conductors at the station in Haarlem. The conductors, men of 28 and 40 years old, wanted to verify the ticket of the suspect, the police reported.

The suspect could show a ticket and tried to escape. One of the guards wanted him to stop, but got punched in the stomach. In the struggle that then arose were both conductors hits.

The suspect was eventually held anyway. The police have the man taken in for questioning. Both conductors have reported.

The NS announced earlier this year after putting series of violent incidents in the transport of more staff. All conductors are night and weekend trains teams of two work instead of alone. In addition, there are a hundred men deployed extra security. 94 percent of NS staff said last year with aggression to be faced. People who cause nuisance at stations may since May 1, obtain a residence ban.
