Minister of concerns about privacy terms WhatsApp – NU.nl

So did the minister Tuesday during Question Time in parliament. WhatsApp will soon begin sharing information about its users with parent company Facebook.

If users do not want that, they themselves must convert a slider in the privacy menu WhatsApp. Van der Steur thinks she’s not going to do that and the message about changing terms of use click away and “do not realize that they thus make a choice.”

Van der Steur thinks that users actually enter into a new agreement with WhatsApp . “You can share refuse data with Facebook, but then you have to read the agreement and my concern is that people do not do that.”

WhatsApp left late last month know that it is planning more data to share with parent company Facebook. Then let several European privacy watchdogs, including the Netherlands, know that to follow with suspicion
