The police start a third internal investigation to the excesses of the Central works council (COR). It focuses on a member of the COR, and arises from the exploratory research expenditure of the council, which last week came to the fore that declarations “ineffective and disproportionate”.
The COR came last year in disrepute because of an exorbitant expenditure, under the leadership of chairman Frank Giltay. There were luxury parties are organized, cruises booked and expensive meeting venues chosen.
Minister Van der Steur has commissioned an independent investigation. Current police chief Erik Akerboom did also declaration against Sleep. Also the role of Gerard Bouman, the former chief of police, is the subject of research.
