Eindhoven Airport two weeks ‘flat’ – Eindhoven Dagblad

EINDHOVEN – Contractor BAM start with the renovation of the runway of the Eindhoven Air Base. Starting Monday, the two weeks very quiet around Eindhoven Airport. Until Wednesday, June 15th contractor BAM is working on the renovation of the runway.

On Sunday, the aircraft of Ryanair and Transavia transferred to other airports; Military fleet has already left in recent days. The four Hercules transport aircraft were temporarily stationed at Gilze-Rijen, as well as the Gulfstream Air Force. The two KDC-1o are flown to Luxembourg Airport. The Air Force seizes the silent period at the airbase, among other disaster exercises, along with the regional fire department. Of the 1,500 people who work at the civilian airport Eindhoven Airport is a part on leave.

The next two weeks are used for a variety of tasks, which can now be implemented more effectively than when the airport is full of business . Including maintenance of the asphalt on the platform, the modernization of toilets in the arrivals and flight information.

Multifunctional building

The silent period is an opportunity to prepare in advance for the stage for another big job, that of the multipurpose building at car park P1, right in front of the terminal. After the renovation of the runway parkers can park their cars on a property between P1 and P2 (where normally buses and taxis).

Catering

Hotel Tulip Inn continues the next few weeks simply by turning, though it was only to provide a place to sleep workers involved in the renovation. The hospitality industry is running at half speed: AH to Go and Starbucks are only open during business hours

The future growth of Eindhoven Airport remains clearly visible.. Until next summer working on the multipurpose building (public transport terminal, parking and catering). Just before the delivery is expected from the new, larger baggage.
