The flexwet, what was it again? – NOS

With the new law as temporary workers before permanent employment, was the idea. Furthermore, it had to be easier to dismiss employees and get services a compensation, as they have at least two years ‘ service be dismissed. The duration of the unemployment benefit is shortened.

The law soon led to problems in sectors in which many migrant workers work. For example, agricultural companies, theme parks and campsites major effort to have enough staff to find or to keep.

Problems in education is unique

‘Law does not do what it should do

However, there is still much criticism on the WWZ. “Most of the problems are eliminated, but the law still does not do what it aims to do: more fixed instead of flex,” says Mieke Ripken of employers ‘ organisation VNO-NCW. While the number of permanent jobs is growing, decreases the proportion of permanent jobs.

That also says a labour lawyer Bernard Tomlow: “Asscher increased the dike that employees need to protect against flex contracts. But employers look over the dike, and see a trap and be allergic to permanent jobs.”
