Since then, petitions for signatures, and a lawsuit brought to the level crossing in Winsum to make it safer. The municipality has decided that the notorious transition close. That should still be for 2020 to happen, writes RTV Noord.

The plan is now to along the track of a road to another secure handle. This road must be on the ground of a farm-to-table, but there is a disagreement between him and ProRail about a suitable compensation for the acquisition of the land. The negotiations about this are ongoing.

“The actual problem here is not the money or urgency, but has to do with an owner who also has to work, so that we can have that land,” says Pier Eringa of ProRail.
