Willem Holleeder arrested following statement about Fred Ros liquidations – nrc.nl

Interior

Willem Holleeder this morning arrested for possible involvement in the assassinations of Kees Houtman and Thomas van der Bijl. Reported that the prosecution today.

The arrest stems from a statement by Fred R., the key witness in the Passage Process around the liquidations in the underworld. The 56-year-old Holleeder is now ‘after observation and analysis’ statements of R. arrested on suspicion of murder and participation in a criminal organization.

Apprehension because of pre-trial Passage Process

Property Trader Kees Houtman led a criminal gang where Sam Klepper and John Mieremet were part of. He was shot dead on November 2, 2005 outside his home in Amsterdam-Osdorp. Holleeder him would have extorted. Thomas van der Bijl was liquidated in 2006. The café Halls; Justice wanted him as a witness in the extortion case around Houtman.

The arrest of Holleederer today comes as no surprise, says NRC editor Jan Meeus. He is following the case for years:

“Monday is the pre-trial on the Passage Process. That means that we look at the lines that run in that case at this time. One was whether Holleeder should or should not be prosecuted. Before the end of the year was the OM then take a decision. “

Holleeder was in September at the OM also in sight for the murder of Cor van Hout, in 2003. The Arrest of today has to do with being only the death of Houtman and Van der Bijl.

Statement R. final push

According to the R. Meeus statement, which a few months ago in exchange for a reduced sentence would testify against his former business partners, the final push was in the back. It is not the first time that the name of Holleeder falls associated with these murders. Earlier, Peter la S. stated that Holleeder was one of the clients:

“There were indications that since 2006 he was possibly involved in a number of assassinations. When the prosecution has not prosecuted. Following R. has the OM everything against the light on Holleeder. R. is important, but his statement is really not the only one. “

The OM has” pretty much “material on the role of Holleeder the liquidations. Problematic for the prosecution is that there are many indications hearsay. Meeus:

“The one criminal has heard something that someone else would have done. You should verify that. However, a number of people could say more about it is dead. Think of Willem Endstra, Cor van Hout and Thomas van der Bijl. Those claims are therefore difficult to assess.

The prosecution, however, is now in the position of being able to test some things do: Fred R. is a key witness who can explain many things “

. Holleeder probably early next week brought
