Willem Holleeder this morning arrested for possible involvement in the assassinations of Kees Houtman and Thomas van der Bijl. Reported that the prosecution today.
The arrest stems from a statement by Fred R., the key witness in the Passage Process around the liquidations in the underworld. The 56-year-old Holleeder is now ‘after observation and analysis’ statements of R. arrested on suspicion of murder and participation in a criminal organization.
Apprehension because of pre-trial Passage Process
Property Trader Kees Houtman led a criminal gang where Sam Klepper and John Mieremet were part of. He was shot dead on November 2, 2005 outside his home in Amsterdam-Osdorp. Holleeder him would have extorted. Thomas van der Bijl was liquidated in 2006. The café Halls; Justice wanted him as a witness in the extortion case around Houtman.
The arrest of Holleederer today comes as no surprise, says NRC editor Jan Meeus. He is following the case for years:
