‘VVD senator Huijbregts-Schiedon had 22 times double cap’

LOCHEM – Acting Mayor Helmi Huijbregts-Schiedon (VVD) van Bronckhorst voted as a member of the Senate 22 times about something which they themselves are involved. Reported the newspaper.

The newspaper relied on the last 275 votes in the Senate. Comrade Frank de Grave wore most often double cap: 53 times. Although it is quite normal that members of the Senate have secondary functions, the question is whether the risk of conflict of interest is regulated properly.

Trade associations are popular as (at) job, like (other) positions in care and education. According to the Volkskrant finds the Senate rules not to vote on principle go too far, “limited to very free mandate of the politicians’

Huijbregts-Schiedon, who claims to be for a few months additional function freely,. emphasizes that senators with additional jobs bring expertise on a topic and there in the Senate proper use is made of. “People now once have that knowledge. Therefore they have in the Senate also the position to judge laws practicality. They do so based on that broad expertise. ”

Of course, there is a problem if a senator vote differently than intended if the senator has interests.

But it is therefore intended that a senator not agree?

If a senator does not vote, has 1.5% of the population not included.

I think it’s where a senator has dual interests, the best that the senator not meepraat , or so, in the group, and with just the fraction tit tame.

Then in the decision that has not been addressed outside position, and yet voted on behalf of which 1.5% of the people.

It’s just difficult to judge whether senators adhere to this rule because fraction consultation is confidential. So there are not journalists.

and for a Single-fraction is this effective course difficult at all.

But for most senators can work

Nothing against the VVD constantly the measure is taken because there is unfortunately always have again found something. This party proves more and more in this way that pure capitalism apparently very close to negative aspects that comes again and again members of that party are going to break the neck.

Furthermore, this does not, I think that should not look at other parties especially when they like CDA and PvdA Senate still mainly see and use as a sort of retirement home for politicians who do not want to go away or clearly have too much power within the party to go be voted down in a normal procedure. I think the Senate there are not really meant for more.
