All criminal cases against the suspects in Valkenburg manners matter be discussed in public before the court in Maastricht. The judge dismissed the claims which had some of the lawyers of the 29 defendants filed to deal with the issues behind closed doors.
Today the trial began against the men on trial for sexual abuse of a 16-year-old girl in a hotel in Valkenburg in September and October last year with a pre-trial review. Tomorrow, the case continues. The expectation is that few of the suspects show up. The court is obliged to honor three suspects in connection with the statement they made to the police.
The court is the 29 cases treated groups in blocks because in some cases are similar suspicions. 26 of the suspects come this week and next to three will follow later this year.
The men imprisonment hangs over the head of more than twelve years. The police came to the suspects on the track after a raid on a hotel in Valkenburg last December. The girl, who was missing, then was discovered while she had sex with a client.
The main suspect, 21-year-old Armin A. that was found in the bathroom of the hotel room, has been sentenced to two years in prison for trafficking, for incitement to prostitution of a minor.
