(AP / AP) – Many London commuters have Wednesday rushed home earlier than usual because of a strike by subway staff. It is expected that paralyzed public transportation strike.
Metro staff and staff at the metro stations down from 19.30 for 24 hours work down. They demand higher wages and better work schedule in preparation for the opening of an underground 24-hour driving. Transport for London, the company that operates the subway, said Wednesday that so many drivers from the underground part in the work stoppage that no metro can drive. In previous strike could always there still remain a few subway lines in operation.
Trade unions accuse the management of Transport for London which is not seriously negotiated. Mayor of London Boris Johnson called the strike, however, “totally unnecessary, badly timed and politically motivated.” The spokeswoman for Prime Minister David Cameron spoke of an “unacceptable and unjustified work stoppage. “This affects families, workers and businesses across the capital.”
The London Underground carries daily four million people and it is expected that public transport is completely grind to a halt, despite the deployment of additional buses and feathers.
