The plane tried without a drop of fuel to travel the world and in March departed from Abu Dhabi. Promoters had earlier put the leg from China to Hawaii break due to bad weather and the unit in Japan to the ground. Finally I succeeded Borschberg to fly in nearly five days from Japan to Hawaii.

“We are disappointed but not bleak,” commented pilot Bertrand Piccard in Hawaii. As it looks now Piccard will continue the journey with a flight in April to the American city of Phoenix. Then it goes over the US and the Atlantic towards Abu Dhabi. That will be a journey of 35,000 kilometers on down.
