Monday opened Mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb Stairway to the public. Barely half an hour after the opening two thousand people had climbed the stairs.
It is a temporary structure to celebrate 75 years of reconstruction of Rotterdam. The ladder will remain until June 12 and can be climbed from 10.00 to 20.00. Admission is free.
The staircase connects the Grand Trade Building in Rotterdam Central Station. On top there is a view over large parts of the city in all directions. On the roof there is room for a thousand people. There is also an exhibition and arranged a temporary catering facility
