Blendle launches a fixed subscription. For 10 euro per month is it possible to order a selection of articles on the basis of the personal preference to read. Unfortunately, it is still not onbeperte access to all the newspapers and magazines.
The company focuses Blendle Premium, especially on young people who are not necessarily loyal to an individual krantenmerk. “Young consumers who are used to pay for services such as Spotify or Netflix and would like to be good pieces to read, but not a subscription like a newspaper or magazine,” writes the company in a press release.
In total there are more than 120 titles to Blendle Premium. The service is based on the newsletter, which the company makes a selection of outstanding stories from newspapers and magazines. At this moment get test users of the service daily to 20 articles. If you want a different article to read, then you should just as regular users per piece pay (an average of 20 cents).
“We see that the vast majority of our users are very enthusiastic about the fact that Blendle overview and helps with choosing”, says co-founder Alexander Klöpping. “Young people live in a world of Instagram, Snapchat, Spotify, and Netflix, so they require their apps to be social, and be personalized based on their preferences.”
The company tested in december with the new service. RTL Z, news reporter Olivia Manders told about her experiences in Z Today:
Selection on the basis of the algorithm
The selection that the company offers, is for each reader is unique and is assembled by means of an algorithm. This suggested Blendle, a team of datawetenschappers.
“They have the past year of millions of articles analyzed a variety of attributes. The algorithm now keeps to the smallest details into account personal interests and reading habits of users,” says Klöpping. “If you, for example, of longreads and sport you get a greater proportion of long’s sporting goods to see.”
Editors ‘override’ algorithm when important news
In the world of journalism plays in the question or in these personalised nieuwsvoorzieningen there is a ‘nieuwsbubbel,” in which people only have one-sided messages.
“that is Why our editorial staff still at least as important. They “override” the algorithm through pieces to select those perhaps not directly at your preferences to fit, but worth a read. For example, we hope to be the perfect combination between a personal selection and the stories that surprise and your eyes wide keep,” says Klöpping.
