A record number of foreign companies during the past year located in the Amsterdam region. In total there were 157 new companies to the capital and the surrounding area.
Thanks to the arrival of these companies there is expected to be about three years more than of 3,300 additional jobs.
According to the alderman Kajsa Ollongren (economic), Amsterdam is a magnet for foreign companies, talent and startups. “2016 is in many ways a tumultuous year it has been, inter alia, by the Brexit. But in the midst of all these changes continues to Amsterdam to be a strong score as a
place of residence for foreign companies.” 
The reason that international companies for the capital to choose, inter alia, by the strategic location in Europe. By extensions of already-established foreign companies came there in 2016 even more over 4,200 jobs.
