Former minister Curacao hunger strike due to imprisonment – nrc.nl

George Jamaloodin, former Finance Minister in Curacao and suspected of involvement in the murder Helmin Wiels, last Saturday in a hunger strike to protest against his poor detention conditions.

That was his lawyer, Chester Peterson today, reports news agency Novum. Jamaloodin was arrested last week and is since then stuck in the police detention center at Barber. Jamaloodin was a member of the party MFF party Gerrit Schotte, the former Prime Minister of Curacao. He is suspected of having ordered the killing command. Another suspect in the case, Luigi Florentina, committed suicide last year in politiecelcomplex Barber.

According to his lawyer, the head of the police detention center, the situation there own inhumane and unfit qualified.
