Number of new homes at highest level in five years – NU.nl

That turns out Wednesday from data of the Central Bureau for Statistics (CBS). In 2015 were 11 percent fewer homes were completed.

The figures are still provisional. It is expected that the final figures in may 2017 to be known, a little higher.

The level of before the crisis is not yet achieved. Between 2000 and 2009 there were an annual average of 76.000 new homes delivered. Absolute low point was the year 2014, when 45,000 new homes were completed.

the Beginning of 2017, there were 7.7 million homes in the Netherlands. The growth in the housing stock by new construction amounted last year to 0.7 percent. Changes of the number of homes are also impacted by demolition, splits, merges or changes to the user function.

Provinces

The impact of new buildings in the housing stock was 1%, the highest in the province of Utrecht. In Limburg, the increase is the smallest. Also the provinces of Friesland, Drenthe, Zeeland and Groningen were of low growth.

Of all the municipalities of Amsterdam had the largest increase. In the capital were 5.058 new homes delivered. In total 428.000 homes in the city, 6 percent of the total housing stock in the Netherlands.

In Rozendaal, Bellingwedde and Harlingen were no new dwellings completed.
