Suspects for diamantroof at Schiphol airport in 2005 arrested – NOS

The state police has seven people arrested in connection with a diamantroof at Schiphol airport in 2005. In the roof were diamonds of loot made on the value of tens of millions of euros.

The suspects have been arrested in Amsterdam and in the Spanish city of Valencia. It comes to Dutch people: five men and two women.

The seven are suspected of involvement in a violent robbery on a security transport. The robbers threatened with firearms and could in that way with the geldwagen, containing the diamonds, driving away from Schiphol airport.

The total value of the diamonds was almost 70 million euro. Part of it is shortly after the robbery found in a getaway car. The remainder that now is lost, has a value of over 40 million euro.

The state police has recently adopted new information received, which research could be done into the possible perpetrators. The police does not exclude that there are still more arrests to be done.
