According to Minister Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert of Defense has not decided yet on a possible military action against the Islamic State (IS ) in Iraq. “From decision is no,” said the minister today.
Sources close to the government and around the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defence Netherlands reported that F-16s will deliver in the fight against the IS. Weapons would be purchased to supply the Kurds in northern Iraq. Tomorrow will be decided about the ministerrraad, reports Trouw.
Hennis reiterated that nothing is impossible, but stressed that nothing is decided yet. Also there is no tomorrow in the Council of Ministers decision on the issue. Dutch military planners are currently in Florida to discuss action by an international coalition against IS.
