Emergency Services are looking for two persons on board a barge that capsized on the Westerschelde. A person is removed from the water, so the Coast Guard reported tonight.
The incident happened around midnight at the height of the place Hoofdplaat, a dozen kilometers from Terneuzen. As far as known, there were three people on board. The rescued man stood guard while the two other passengers were sleeping. Presumably they are still in the ship, according to the Coast Guard.
Rescue workers are on site and take a dive team to locate the missing. The Royal Navy has been asked to help.
