The fire in seniors apartment Neerbosch East Nijmegen last week has claimed a second life. One of dozens of residents who were injured, was deceased at the hospital. The victim is a 81-year resident

The mayor of Nijmegen, Hubert Bruls announces: ,, I am very shocked by this new bereavement. My sympathy goes out to the families and friends of the victim. An already disastrous day gets so again a very tragic sequel. ”

Earlier died in a 86-year-old woman from the effects of the fire. About fifteen people are

still in hospital. Among them are some very serious injuries.

All homes have smoke and soot damage. The central staircase to be restored completely. The housing complex will therefore remain closed at least two months. The nearly one hundred residents are housed elsewhere
