© anp. Emergency services are on the spot after a shooting at the Australiëhavenweg in the western port area.
A man was last night shot in the western port area of Amsterdam. He was taken to the hospital, reported a police spokesman. The incident happened on the Australiëhavenweg, not far from a sorting office.

The police got around 23:00 the report of a shooting. The perpetrator is still at large. Is searched for a light-colored man in a dark-colored car. The area is removed by the police for trace evidence.
Whether this was an attempt to liquidate is not clear. It is according to the police too early to draw conclusions. Shortly after the incident along the A2 at Ouderkerk aan de Amstel found a burning car. Police are investigating whether it is a getaway car, but it seems not.
Liquidation Golf
The capital in recent months hit by a wave winding. Since December 1, five people were shot dead that were known to the police. Last year there were a total of 25 violent deaths in ten cases involved a liquidation. In two of the liquidation cases suspects were arrested.
Police, Justice and the municipality of Amsterdam work together offenders and suspects liquidations. In addition to the detection and prosecution of those involved, the council hopes in this way also to keep the excessive violence of the streets and prevent innocent victims.
