Amsterdam seems to choose for bridge, at the Java-island – NU.nl

Tuesday, the college of B and W on the “Leap over the IJ”, an examination of the possibilities for additional connections between the city and North, to the hustle and bustle on the ferries. There are multiple options.

there are plans for two bridges: one at the Stone Head and one at the Head of Java. Also the construction of metro Sixhaven directly on the other side of the IJ is an option, just as the construction of a pedestrian tunnel directly behind the Central Station.

Preferred
The preference of the college seems to go to the bridge at the Java-island and the further dismantling of the North/south line-station Sixhaven. That station is directly on the north side of the IJ, opposite the Central Station and there is already construction, but need to be used to be able to be reduced.

According to sources at the town hall, these two options are now examined, they would ‘poleposition’. The city council must ultimately make a decision on the construction of the new connection.
