Seventeen suspects were arrested last Wednesday during a major police operation against motor clubs, stuck longer. The magistrate of the court extended their remand in Limburg today. The prosecution had asked for the extension.

On Wednesday, during the action in Limburg, North Brabant and Germany arrested a total of twenty people, nineteen men and one woman. Seventeen of them were arraigned today, two others, but remain stuck. One suspect is now fixed in Germany, the prosecution has asked for his extradition.

The searches were among many other weapons, including five rocket launchers, and two drug labs found. The arrested persons are suspected of international trafficking, abuse, violence and intimidation.

Of the arrested people were fourteen members of Bandidos, a so-called Outlaw Motorcycle Gang. Harrie Ramakers, president of the motorcycle club, was among them. Furthermore, one of the suspects a member of the motorcycle club the Red Devils, linked to the Hells Angels and one member of someone else an unknown club.

The Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs approach is a high priority for municipal and justice. Members are widely suspected of involvement in criminal activities in the areas such as weapons, drugs and bullying. Motorcycle Gangs must be addressed criminal or civil, said Minister Van der Steur (Security and Justice, VVD). If not, then the law must be changed in order to act more effectively or to prohibit such clubs.

The tension around motorcycle gangs in Limburg risen substantially in recent weeks. In a confrontation between fifteen and three Bandidos Red Devils in Sittard fell early this month, three wounded.

Attempts to ban motorcycle clubs were previously spoke. In the case against a Harlingen branch of the Hells Angels certain the Supreme Court in 2009 that the criminal behavior of individual members of the association should not be charged
