Tijn helps Serious Request to 8.7 million euros – NOS

Serious Request went this year to worldwide attention by the action of the 6-year-old Tijn. He is suffering from terminal hersenstamkanker (DIPG) and is expected to be the next edition of the action. With his nail-action, he wanted to make sure that children with pneumonia, however, can be helped. The action was a huge success; of dj Armin van Buuren to prime minister Rutte, a lot of famous people let their nails. He hoped to have 100 euros to pick up, but it was so a multiple thereof.

The final sum may be even higher: a number of auctions for charity has not yet expired. Not all the amounts are so processed.

Last year was 8.6 million euros collected for children in areas of conflict. The highest amount ever was 13.8 million euro in 2012.

The Flemish version of the fundraising campaign ran earlier tonight and brought a record price at. Under the name ‘The Warmest Week of ‘Music for Life’ is 7.8 million euro was collected.
