Apeldoorn doctor with possible Ebola infection arrived in the Netherlands
LEIDEN – The Apeldoorn doctor who is possibly infected with Ebola, has arrived in the Netherlands . Erdi Huizenga and her colleague Nick Zwinkels from Reeuwijk been transferred to the Leiden University Medical Centre. Both doctors show no symptoms of the disease.
The next 24 hours, the doctors kept a close eye on. If the doctors do appear sick, they should stay temporarily at the LUMC. If that is not the case, they are allowed to go home. There they must then regularly measure their temperature. After infection with the Ebola virus can take up to three weeks before the first symptoms of the disease manifest themselves.
Erdi Huizenga worked since 2012 in the hospital of the Lion Heart Foundation in Yele. She was among other educator of twenty local nurses.
